The Zombie Corner

Last week I was finally able to see George A. Romero’s new film, The Land of the Dead. I was really impressed. Not only does it fill the void for having to endure all the bad zombie flicks out there (28 Days), but it was able to combine a healthy dose of horror movie gore (as only Romero can) with a really interesting social critique. Particularly fun to watch was Dennis Hopper portraying the evil villain in a very Rumsfeld like way. To quote from my friend Geoff Kennedy: “Best Zombie Movie Ever.” Well that and Shaun of the Dead. It was a riot as well. Look for cameo appearencs in Land of the Dead by Simon Pegg (Shaun) and Edgar Wright (director). Fun stuff all around.
